Sir Adrian Swire

September 7, 2018

We are very sad to note that our long-time supporter and Patron Sir Adrian Swire passed away on 24 August 2018.

Sir Adrian and Lady Judith have been enthusiastic supporters of Wantage Choral Society for a number of years. A particular highlight for both singers and audience was the very generous welcome that they extended to us to their beautiful home at Sparsholt Manor when the choir performed in the Church of the Holy Rood at Sparsholt.

Our thoughts are with Lady Judith and the family.

Liz Wilson – Thankyou

October 1, 2008

Liz was chairperson of Wantage Choral Society for the last 5 years.

Guided by Liz, the choir went through quite a transformation under some very difficult and demanding circumstances, including changes in Directors of Music and rehearsal venue. Liz was also forefront of the campaign to save St Mary’s music block as an arts centre for Wantage.

The choir thanked Liz for all her hard work at their AGM on Tuesday September 30th. She is pictured above with one of our Tenors, William Jackson, being presented with a paperweight, books and a voucher to mark her departure.
